ABOUT RON

Ron’s Bio

Ron Brockway is a set designer, technical director, scenic carpenter and painter, installer of art exhibits, actor, and author of memoir. He has worked with and designed stage settings for regional and university theaters in Ohio, New Jersey, and New York, including McCarter Theater and Theatre Intime in Princeton, NJ, The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville, NY, and New Vision United Church of Christ in Yulee, FL. He was head studio carpenter for ten years at New Jersey Public Television, and for 25 years was Director of Operations and Art Installations at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida, where he received the prestigious Laurel Award of Excellence for Professionalism. As a member of the American Association of Museums and the Florida Association of Museums, he traveled throughout Florida and California, exploring innovations and confering with artists and museum administrators. Earlier, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers and owned and opperated Brockway Furniture Company in Ashtabula, Ohio. He served as Youth Counselor at The United Church in Geneva, Ohio, and at the Ohio State Planning and Training Conferences of the United Church of Christ. He directed the Two Fishes Coffee House at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, and served as Chaplain for the Vero Beach, Florida, Elks Club where he won the District Championship Chaplain Award. Ron holds a BA from Cleveland State University and an M Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
